Landmarks Commission

COVID-19 UPDATE: We are currently only accepting applications with a signed extension form. These include Design Review applications for Landmarks or Districts, as well as Article 85 Demolition Delay applications. Submit complete applications by email, with a hard copy and check for the application mailed to Environment Department, Room 709, Boston City Hall, 1 City Hall Square, Boston, MA 02201.

UPDATE (October 16, 2020): We're working diligently to answer all constituent inquiries in a timely manner. Due to COVID-19 and a busy construction season, we are currently receiving higher than average phone call and email volumes.  Email is still the best way to connect with us.

About the Commission

The Landmarks Commission (BLC) and the nine local historic district commissions are comprised of volunteers nominated by professional organizations and neighborhood groups. BLC staff support the commissions' work.
